Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani have dug deep
into their unfathomably large record collections
for Fabric 43 to craft a mix that will not be "the
classic records that we've played forever," as
Geist puts it. Instead, as he told Fabric, "we
thought we'd do a mid '80s sort of thing, which is
kind of a neglected time period." Indeed, what we
recognize of the tracklisting seems to bear that
out: Ministry, Heaven 17, Devo are all present and
accounted for, while holding things up for the
current age will be the mysterious Baby
Oliver-widely rumored to be Geist himself-who
turns up with "Feelings 2." Coming on the heels of
last year's James Murphy and Pat Mahoney mix, we
get the sense that this will act as a nice
continuation of the party atmosphere that the
series has opened more fully up to of late.
