Legendary Mixes. Part 09_DJ soULviet / Soviet Soul Mix. 2006
Под псевдонимом DJ soULviet скрывается DJ Tengiz — патриарх российского хип-хопа, “мастер оф паппитс” таких, к примеру, питерских проектов, как Мистер Малой и Братья Улыбайте, а также основатель легендарного коммьюнити funk-petersburg.ru.
Микс сфокусирован на танцевальных мелодиях советской эстрады 70-х в стилевом диапазоне от северного соула до диско-фанка. Звучит все это, надо признать, вполне на уровне западных аналогов. Но особенного внимания, считаю, заслуживают тексты песен.
О пропагандистском треше “Самоцветов”, включающем бессмертную фразу “Наши руки не для скуки” упоминать не будем.
А вот послушайте лучше квази-мотауновский соул “Любимая” Валерия Ободзинского на слова Е. Евтушенко или прифанкованную прог-роковую сюиту “Крик птицы” “Песняров” на слова Ю. Рыбчинского — мороз по коже гарантирован.
Но жемчужина микса — это, безусловно, хартстопер “Нам не жить друг без друга” на слова В. Добронравова в исполнении Льва Лещенко с необычайно редким для советской эстрадной лирики героем. Рефлексирующий, ”отчужденный”, практически антониониевский персонаж мучительно решает одну из 2-х, на выбор, проблем: невозможность обладания (в буквальном смысле) любимой женщиной или же всепоглощающая борьба с навязчивой мыслью о повешении (см. мотив “финишной ленточки”).

thanks mrsolid1 but ifolder downloads speeds are beyond slow in my country it would tack over 4 hours to download & then lose connection/drop out halfway through. i dont know why people just dont use sharebee or rapidshare megaupload etc atleast then everyone benifits

Also wide known jazz piano & keyboard player Rolf Kuehn who mainly released on the MPS jazz label composed a few nice songs for Selected Sound. Niagara’s mastermind and drum virtuoso Klaus Weiss was responsible for two Selected Sound libraries (9067 – Time Signals & 9076 - Sound Inventions) that are most wanted by beat producers because of their fat drum sounds and breaks.
All records from the 9000 series had the same conservative, simple artwork, coloured in golden brown, not showing that there could be anything exciting on these records.
Indeed, among the 122 library records (9001–9122) that were released from 1968 to 1987, there is as many crap as fantastic obscure, funk, & jazz pearls – and not just for you beats ‘n’ breaks diggers & producers, also for the jazz & funk listeners.
