Удивлен, что на этом сайте нет ничего о нем. Это монстр гитары, оригинальный композитор и вдохновитель многих японских( и не только) исполнителей. Он слушается очень свеже и неповторимо. Рекомендую всем, кто любит музыку на стыке. Найти его диски очень не просто. Если у кого есть - просьба выкладывать немедленно.

Kazumi Watanabe was born on October 14, 1953 in Tokyo, Japan. He is a jazz, instrumental rock, and blues performer. Similar jazz performers are Jamaaladeen Tacuma, John Scofield, Vernon Reid, Marc Bonilla, Trevor Rabin and Al Di Meola.
Although sporadically active since the early 1990s, his output in the prior decade is considered some of the better instrumental jazz fusion of the time, informed with a particular bite and variety in approaches. His Spice of Life releases were in a trio format with drummer Bill Bruford (ex Yes and King Crimson among others) and bassist Jeff Berlin and sold well given the genre. However, throughout the 1980s, he worked with a stellar cast of established musicians, including Tony Levin, Sly and Robbie, Wayne Shorter, Patrick Moraz, Marcus Miller, Richard Bona and Peter Erskine.
He was known for heavy endorsement and use of guitars by Steinberger and Paul Reed Smith.
Resonance Vox is a band started by Japanese guitarist Kazumi Watanabe, born 1953. He has collaborated with Ryuichi Sakamoto as well as YMO world tour. His solo career includes works such as Kylyn, To Chi Ka, Mobo 1 & 2, Spice of Life 1 & 2, Kilowatt, Pandora and O Ya Tsu.

Kazumi Watanabe has for the past 20 years been one of the top guitarists in fusion, a rock-oriented player whose furious power does not mask a creative imagination. Watanabe studied guitar at Tokyo's Yamaha Music School and he was a recording artist while still a teenager. In 1979, he formed the group Kylyn and, in 1983, he put together the Mobo band. Several of his recordings have been made available by Gramavision and they show that he ranks up with Al DiMeola (when he is electrified) and Scott Henderson among the pacesetters in the idiom.

In 2004 a DVD was distributed by Geneon of a concert that took place on May 22, 1987, entitled "The Spice of Life in Concert". It features a 12 piece concert, and has an interview of Kazumi Watanabe. In addition to the original 8 tracks on "The Spice of Life", it includes a drum solo by Bill Bruford, a bass solo by Jeff Berlin, "Sayonara" (from the 1980 album To Chi Ka) and "Half Blood" (from the 1983 album Mobo).
