I know Funkysouls have Snoop Dogg forum and all other member of the Death Row but I think this album maybe need DISCUSSION.........................................
This is the somewhat hard to find "Fuck Death Row" album from Snoop.
From the title you expect it to be filled to the brim with angry Snoop Dogg. You expect it to be seething with scathing rips on the Row. If you are expecting that, you're shit out of luck. Snoop scarcely mentions Death Row in his brazenly titled 3rd full length LP.
Snoop Dogg - Fuck Death Row ( unreleased )
There are a few good Snoop Dogg songs on here. "Snitches", "Tommy", and "Change Gone Come" are all quite good. They're not top Snoop efforts, but they're good. A lot of the remainder is what appears to be cut tracks off other albums. Most of the songs aren't bad, but none are top of the heap.
The original 13 tracks are very spotty and mostly average Snoop Dogg fare. Obviously, this is why this album isn't popularly for sale. There are some average Snoop Dogg stories, but the great majority is unremarkable Snoop over standard funk beats. It's better than MP but it's not what I want out of the D O double G.
The best part of the album (also why I don't regret the purchase) is the last two tracks. They are remixed versions of "Deep Cover" and "Nuthin But a G Thang". The Deep Cover is (of course) graphically violent and features Snoop Dogg pumping a "full six-pack" into a cop. It also features Snoop getting about as pumped up and as socially conscious as you ever see. While blasting a random cop to "stop him from beating the blacks" is a laughable argument to make, you see what he's trying to do. Snoop seems legitimately distressed and angry here; it's probably because he's not yet rich and comfortable.
I was initially disappointed in the "G Thang" remix, but I have come to love it. It contains the same hyped ass lyrics as the original in what can only be called a stripped down beat. It's just Snoop and Dre kicking it. It's not what the original is, but it is still better than 75% of all rap music.
If you want to own all of the Snoop Dogg, tap into this. If you really like "Deep Cover" or "Nuthin But a G Thing" probably buy this. If you want a hot new Snoop album with a lot of great new songs, let this one pass.
