с торрент-сетями я знаком, клевая тема!
и главное - быстрая! =))
у меня BitLord 1.1, прога - чудо)) одна из немногих, которая ставится за секунду и настраивать её не надо =) кроме папки, куда файло сохранять по дефолту.
а фанки-торрентс - самая быстрая сеть палюбому!)) спасибо вам, парни))
есть правда один вопрос, который меня мучает, но задавать пока не буду - почитаю форум)) |

У меня есть очень большой вопрос: можно ли настроить BitTorrent клиента (неважно какого) для работы через HTTP-proxy, пытался со многими клиентами, но например BitComet пишет "Proxy request failed - HTTP/1.1 502 Proxy Error ( The specified Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port is not allowed. ISA Server is not configured to allow SSL requests from this port. Most Web browsers use port 443 for SSL requests. )" Неужели никак нельзя его заставить работать через http порт?
PS: эх.. нет счастья - даже попробовать этот битторрент не могу  |

For all those none Russian members, I have posted some bittorent tutorials in english. I hope it will be a helpful feedback to all who are interested. These can be classified as follows:
-Bittorrent and the Tracker, Create, Upload and Seed
-Bittorent Faq
-Bittorent Clients
Bittorrent and the Tracker, Create, Upload and Seed:
1) After installing your app. open it.
2) Now in the "Create Torrent" window, there are 2 options:-
Simple and Classic.
Select Classic.
3) In filename or Pathname, you again have 2 options for making your torrent....
You can make a torrent of your entire Directory or of a particular File.
Click the appropriate button of your wish...and select your file...
4) Select "One torrent from entire folder" and then hit the "Create .torrent" button at the bottom right side.
5) In Tracker box enter the chosen tracker url:
6) After doing that you need to announce that file to the tracker you wish to share and become a seed.
7) For doing that click the "View/Edit Torrent".
8) Now select your torrent that you had just created and it will appear in the "Torrent" box.
9) Now enter the announce url. In our case you have to enter the url that you have chosen and then click the Save Button and close Maketorrent.
Thats it. Now comes the 2nd part.
10)Go to the tracker page: _http://whatever you chose
After logging in, click on 'Upload a File".
11) Now select the file that you had just created by clicking th Browse button.
12) Select the appropriate category to which your file belongs to ie Anime, Movie etc.
13) Now hit the upload button.
Thats it now you have uploaded a torrent file to the tracker. Now you need to become a seeder. This is very important. Just uploading doesnt serve the purpose.
14) Now double click your torrent file on your HDD or open it using ur favourite Bittorent Client.
15) When it asks you as to where do you want to save it, then select the same place where your original file exist. By doing it will check the torrent and not download the torrent again.... Now dont close the bittorent client or hit the finish button if you are using Experimental Bitorrent Client. Just keep it minimized.
Thats it. Now you have become a seeder and are sharing with all the members.

Bittorent Faq
Q. What do I need to do to set up and use Bittorrent?
Open up your ports 6881-6889 if you are behind a router or firewall. Two people who have got those ports closed (passive) cannot communicate with each other, resulting in lower download speeds in total. There isn't any problem with using other ports. For instance, I can set my client to use ports 6871-6879 instead of the default 6881-6889 - and open/forward those ports in my router. I forward 6871-6879 through the router to one machine, ports 6881-6889 to another machine and both can communicate with others. If you can’t open the ports, you’ll still be able to dl/ul with people who are active but your speeds will be slower.
To check if you have your ports opened correctly, use _http://btfaq.com/natcheck.pl
Q. I’m still not getting the speeds some people are getting…what else can I do?
Do not max out your upload speed. Limit it to 4-5KB below your maximum. The torrent does not only need upload bandwidth to get the file out to others but also to confirm the reception of packets from people you are downloading from. The TOTAL upload rate for ALL torrents when set to 5KB/s below your maximum upload rate will do you just fine. It's a common fallacy that, if you set to unlimited download, you will get the file fastest. (I know I made that mistake in the beginning)
A cable connection means that no given numbers are absolute. You are using a part of a "pool" which gives you 2m/528kb at normal circumstances. If many people get on it, you get less bandwidth...if less people are using it you may get more bandwidth than what's written "in the papers". If you notice that 45-50kb/s upload is too much - set max. upload to 40kb/s. Next day 50 may be quite aright - it fluctuates with the number of users/bandwidth use near you.
Q. I used to get better speeds but now its slowed down on me. Any other ideas?
Do not run too many torrents simultaneously. If you want to find out what it is capable of, pick a popular torrent and run that one on its own. Then add another and another until you see a decrease. I get much faster transfers with a max of 5. If I were to run a bunch they all get lousy speeds. That’s why this is a TEAM event...we all make up the whole. My connection is 2m/526 kbps and I get great results from 4 or 5 torrents with a total upload of 25-35 kbps.
What else to do if your getting slow downloads? Stop watching it! Leave it alone! Don’t check every few minutes if your 2.5 gig dvd rip is a few % higher.. It wont be..
If someone else says to you "I’m getting 150k/second on BT", then you should check to see what they are actually downloading.. I’ll bet the file has tens or hundreds of peers and a high number of seeds. They can get 30 connections to other people and download from each of them at 4kbs.. Sounds like nothing, but when 4*30 = 120kbs, suddenly it becomes fast.
Q. Why are my upload speeds greater than my download speeds?
If your upload rate is high (like 70k/sec) and your download rate is low (like, 5), why do you feel so cheated? Come on! You’re contributing to a community, giving to others.. You’re giving many people the chunks of the file that they don’t have.. They are slowly getting other bits that you don’t have. Later you’ll be rewarded for your generosity because they are more likely to trade with you as you have been nice to them.. High upload speeds are good.. They get the file spread quickly, which in turn raises the download speed, so don’t moan about them too much, ok?
When your upload rate is high (e.g. 70kbs) you’re lucky to have a fat upstream connection.. You’re hence very attractive for people to download from you. As most people in the world have fast download pipes and slow upload pipes, your fast upload pipe mates very well with their fast download pipe and data flows out to them very quickly. They probably have a lame upload pipe, which mates with your super duper mega fast download pipe, but data only flows at the rate of THEIR lame ass upload pipe speed. Wait while the file becomes more popular, then you can download from a lot of slow peeps, and overall get a fast connect. (of course, they must all have different parts of the file, and if you’ve already uploaded fast to them everything you have, they will start collecting bits that you don’t have, hopefully overall many of them will have different chunks.
Q. what does the “distributed copies” statistic in my client mean?
A rating of like "plus 14.999 distributed copies" line of your BT client is how many full copies there are out there spread among the known peers. When distributed copies is greater than 1, then many people have all got the same chunk of a file. This is a good thing because you’ll be getting the file from more sources
Q. Why are my upload speeds greater than my download speeds?
Cap your upload speed to about 80% of your maximum so it won´t slow down your download stream.

My personal favourite is TheShadOw client, with the java-based Azureus a very close second.
Burst! RC5 is the preferred flavour for many.
MY ADVICE = Stick to the known clients that are being updated, they are alot more reliable, quicker when downloading and considerably more stable than some of the less familiar versions I have listed here.
Choose the burst! , Shad0w and Azureus clients and you shouldn't have any problems.
Get yourself a copy of TorrentSpy , which is an invaluable tool to aid your downloading pleasure.

Меня мучает вопрос с рейтингами и пр.
Насколько я разобрался, для моего же блага я должен аплоудить кк можно больше торрентов, за это мне дан будет респкет и еще вроде что-то.
Я не против, но у меня нет возможности оставлять компьютер включенным неделями.
Вопрос: Чем мне грозит безаплодная жизнь в частности на Фанки Торрентс? Могу ли я скачивать?
Ну и вообще хотелось бы услышать пару слов по этому поводу...
