A Hawk and a Hacksaw - 2005 - Darkness at Noon
Второй альбом Джереми Барнса, известного по участию в модной нынче музыкальной группе Beirut и, что, наверное, более важно, Neutral Milk Hotel, и компании (среди прочих - Хизер Трост из тех же Beirut). Исполняют они гремучую смесь восточно-европейского и американского фолка, клезмера и марьячи - не совсем понятно, зачем, но очень здорово.

A Hawk and a Hacksaw (often abbreviated to AHAAH) is a band from Albuquerque, New Mexico. They are currently on The Leaf Label. The band mainly consists of percussionist Jeremy Barnes, who was previously the drummer for Neutral Milk Hotel, and violinist Heather Trost. The music is inspired by eastern European and particularly Balkan traditions, and is mostly instrumental with occasional unintelligible vocals, shouts and cheers. When playing live, he plays all of the instruments himself, simultaneously, often employing unconventional percussion methods such as striking a cymbal with a drumstick attached to his head, and wearing a hat covered in small bells. The band has toured with The Olivia Tremor Control and Beirut.
