Daft Punk – Primetime Of Your Life (Dir. Tony Gardner)
In promotion of their new retrospective CD/DVD Musique Vol. 1, the Dafts have released a previously unseen video. I really can't figure out why they didn't release it before now, because it is amazing. The weird creepiness is enough to keep me interested, but it also has a bizzare twist that has a much deeper social significance. It was made in the typical Daft Punk style, which is very campy, so it was very shocking when I got to the ending because my reaction was very unexpected.

В секцию Режиссерские Недели, одного из важнейших параллельных конкурсов Каннского фестиваля,
попала полнометражная картина Electroma электронного французского дуэта Daft Punk.
Режиссерами психоделической музыкальной одиссеи стали Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo и Thomas Bangalter.
Сюжет завязан вокруг двух роботов, стремящихся стать людьми. Идея картины передается не в диалогах,
а визуальными и аудио-средствами.
Electroma – режиссерский дебют двух музыкантов, но на фестивале они не новички.
Аниме Interstella 5555, созданное Лэйдзи Мацумото совместно с дуэтом, демонстрировалось в Каннах в 2003 году.

Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem
The film is the visual realization of Discovery, an album of the French house band Daft Punk. Each track from the album has been animated as an episode in the story of the abduction and rescue of an interstellar pop band. It was produced by the Japanese production studio Toei Animation and conceptualized by Leiji Matsumoto, famous for his many other anime creations such as Captain Harlock, Space Battleship Yamato, and Galaxy Express 999.
