[Release Notes]
After what feels and seems like eternity, finally the wait is over (so I'll keep
it short this time  . The most anticipated sequel in electronic music has
finally arrived!
Over the past 4 years, the online community, has been keeping eachother busy
with, false tracklists, fake releases and even homemade artwork for the follow
up to the release that redefined the DJ mix
In between writing and producing 3 original songs for this release, several club
singles on his own new label emFire, writing a score for a surf film, composing
music for TV shows such as CSI, and his hectic yearly globe trotting tour
schedule, Sasha worked on and completed Invol2ver, together with his team of
production geniuses, Barry Jamieson, Charles May, Duncan Forbes and Leo Leite
So with a busy schedule, and his latest releases not really hitting the mark
like the first Involver had for me, back when I first heard it, your hopes go
down, in fear of being disappointed.
Luckily, Invol2ver starts off with an awesome version of Telefon Tel Aviv's
"You Are The Worst Thing In The World" and then quickly blends into
Rone - Flesh, a track I knew was great before I had even seen the tracklist!
The amazing start leads to a couple vocal tracks, where Sasha uses snippets of
the vocals of American indie artist Ray LaMontagne and UK's Adam Parker.
Charlie May sets the mood, with Midnight, for the amazing Arcadia of the German
electronica artist Sascha Ring aka Apparat, with Arcadia the more uptempo mood
is set for the best part of the album that is to come.
After the amazing work that is Home Video - That You Might it's time for one
of the moments biggest club records in Sasha and Digweed's box
Ladytron's "Destroy Everything You Touch" is Sasha's way to make right what went
wrong at Felix Da Housecat on Involver. The vocals are so catchy and it's cut up
perfectly to create a dark and gritty bomb that will set dancefloors ablaze!
After Ladytron it's time for my favorite of the bunch (though it's hard to pick)
M83 - Couleurs starts off with some awesome spaced out sounds and melodies, and
builds into an amazing energetic monster. And right at the end, just when you
think you can't take it anymore, he layers the vocals of "The Eraser" from
Radiohead's Thom Yorke on top of it and it builds again into Sasha's own
"3 Little Piggys" that sets the mood, with it's killer bassline, for the epic
closer of the album.
London based Engineers, are great at forging epic, symphonic, psychedelic
soundscapes inspired by Brian Eno, Cocteau Twins, Todd Rundgren & Spiritualized
Their "Sometimes I Realise" is perfect for Sasha to end the cd with an
electronica feel like he likes to do with his livesets.
With Invol2ver Sasha really makes up for keeping us waiting so long. The album
will cater to everyone who loved Involver and probably some more people since
it's a much more dancefloor oriented album.
To me this album is the epitome of electronic music....
