Ok well it looks like no-one is interested in my rant about audio formats so here is a solution for the future anywayz should you need it.
Here is Alien Girl; a rip I did on the best quality kit and it is a new vinyl! 1 or 2 plays maybe

The .RAR contains two files, one is a 320kbps mp3 and the other is ATRAC Advanced Lossless compression which is as good as .PCM or .WAV but is less than half size. The .WAV came up 114MB and the .AA3 came up 54MB meaning that on a 250GB HD you can squeeze 4600 tunes rather than 2200.
The recordings were done using a 1200mk5, DJM 600 plugged into a TASCAM US-122 via XLR balanced inputs connected via USB into my PC. This is the software used, Sony Sound Forge 9.0e; follow the instructions in readme carefully and it will install correctly:

Once you have the .AA3 file from your peer who made the rip (I plan on doing more) you can do a few things; either, you can import it into Sound Forge or another converter and change it to .WAV then you can stick it on CD or convert to .mp3 if you really must, or you can download this http://support.sony-europe.com/DNA/downloa...=no&f=sstage_dl and burn straight to CD! Guaranteed though if you stay with the .WAV, .AA3 or .FLAC no-one will ever know if it is a digital or a vinyl unless they see you mixing it.
