The Intrusion full-length is finally here - a massively
anticipated follow up of sorts to 'The Coldest Season' album
and without question the most fully-realised Echospace project
since that album came out 18 months ago. Steve Hitchell
reserves his Intrusion moniker for his rich and sumptuous dub
experiments, more Rhythm & Sound as opposed to the to M-Series
or BC references more commonly associated with the Deepchord
axis. Referencing the Caribbean on 'Montego Bay' the padded,
heady structure of the music infuses the massive sense of
space with a warm and breezy pulse that sets this music apart
from so much of the rubber-coated preset teasing that passes
for dub techno these days. Paul St. Hilaire, meanwhile, adds a
typically righteous vocal presence alongside luxurious Fender
Rhodes on 'Angel', a beautiful cut exclusive to this CD issue
The best tracks from the 12"s are compiled with 'Intrusion
Dub', 'Seduction', 'Reflection', 'Tswana Dub' and 'Twilight',
in addition to the glorious 'A Night To Remember' inspired by
his travels to Japan. Crazily limited to a mere 300 copies
only, the cd is now completely sold out at source so we

The Sound Signature Sounds CD is an essential
education in unrivalled Detroit house depth from
Theo Parrish.
The set compiles many vinyl only tracks whose only
previous CD outing was on a rare Japan only import.
Included here are the classic 'Shadow Dancing', a
personal all time favourite on 'Dance of the drunken
drums' (i'm currently recieving major spine chills
listening to this for the first time in a while), the
hovering strings of 'Lake Shore Drive', ghostly soul
edits on 'Took me all the way back', deep house
perfection on 'Lost Keys', psyched house mind
melter 'Music Pt.1' and the rawest Detroit rhythms
on 'Dusty Cabinets'. Theo Parrish is an artists who
has truly taken his craft way out on his own with a
deeply stringent personal philosophy and
irrepressable soul running consistently throughout
all of his productions.
But fuck anything we have to say, this is primarily
music to experience on the floor but personal situations
are just as good. If you've not let Theo into your life yet
this is an excellent place to start, and if you have, you
might want to let your precious vinyl cuts have a rest
for a while and try one of these new fangled CD things
that mean you don't have to get up and turn it over every
11 minutes, what will they think of next? Micro house?
