blues-rock and soul.

Dave Cloud is a man. Even if you thought it might just be a clever name, the truth is evident from pressing play.
He comes from Nashville. His most prominent characteristic is his very dirty mind, and his acute desire to point a
blinking neon spotlight at the underbelly of American pop culture, calling everybody to join him in leering at it. Unlike
Frank Zappa, Dave Cloud’s guitar doesn’t want to kill your mama; it wants to do something else entirely. It’s grimy,
it’s seedy; it’s resolutely lo-fi. From the deliberately out-of-time double-tracked, low-growling vocals to the fuzzy and
smoke-stained instrumentation, this is Nashville garage rock to the core. His grimy references to sugar pop hits such
as ‘Yummy Yummy Yummy I’ve Got Love In My Tummy’ feel like they’re breaking some kind of taboo in concept alone.
And, when Dave Cloud And The Gospel Of Power sing “You Don’t Need Sex” on the opening track, they are telling a big, dirty fib.
