First comes Dub Heavy - Hearts & Ghosts, a three-track 12" on Hyperdub featuring three tracks from the forthcoming full-length "dubbed into new alien versions." We've heard it, and it's very powerful and very beautiful - a hazy, twilight extension of the underrated lighter tracks on Martin's massively acclaimed London Zoo album from last year, full of echo and reverb. The tracks are 'I Dub', 'Too Long Dub' and 'Ting Dub', and the EP will be released in early June. It's also got particularly nice sleeve art.
Then later in the year will come the full-length album. We haven't heard this - it might not even be finished yet - but accepted wisdom has the title down as Super Heavy. As long as Kode 9's recent discussion on Benji B's radio show holds true, it'll be one of six albums released on Hyperdub this year, along with a five-vinyl Hyperdub box set and full-lengths from Kode 9 and Spaceape, Ikonika, Darkstar, and some little known chap from South London called Burial. |
