|Collapse Under The Empire is an instrumental/post-rock band from Hamburg / Germany. They formed 2007 and released their debut album Systembreakdown (2009) on their own.|
As with Collapse Under The Empire’s debut EP << Paintball >> they’ve succeeded their specific post rock sound. Their first full length album << Systembreakdown >> displays acute instrumental sensibility, using pianos and synths with guitar-battering crescendos. You’ll find no nine minute epic. Sometimes there’s oddly reminiscent of bands like “God is an Astronaut” and "Epic45". Most of the songs are alternating between electro-bleeps and powerful guitar explosions; it’s both disturbing and seductive.
Collapse Under The Empire - Systembreakdown (2009)
|Released feb. 12th 2009, it is the first full-length album from Collapse Under The Empire, recorded in summer 2008. |
"With 10 tracks, Collapse Under The Empire continues to show that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of post-rock. They start out slow and pretty, and they build up into powerful, rocking songs with electronic elements, usually coming back down again after the crescendo. Cute's debut LP "Systembreakdown" may only be about 40 minutes long with no nine-minute epic, but it packs a lot of beauty and emotion. The electronics fit perfectly with the instrumental music, and it reminds of being in the city at night with lights shimmering all around. The band’s debut release "Systembreakdown" is an emotionally uplifting experience that also generates a warm and comforting presence. At times poppy and other times focused on the rock side of their sound. "
